An old pic of Devynn and Odie
Devynn's new groundhog
When we started going to Sick kids in Aug I promised Devynn that whenever she needs a poke,
she will get a Webkinz or another stuffy. She is absolutely terrified of needles, and this gives her something to think about to try and take her mind off of the needle. Today we had an appt at the rheumatology clinic. They told me we would be there most of the day, and we were! We registered at about 12:40 and got out at 5:15. Most of our day was spent in the rheumatology clinic. We saw 2 drs, an intern from U of T and 2 nurses. They are now going to do some genetic testing. They want to rule out periodic fever syndrome. They did the blood draw today (6 tubes) and once they get Government approval it will be sent off to the US for testing. We will go back to the clinic in 4-6 mos to discuss the results and to see how shes doing. In the meantime they want us to call right away if she has any symptoms (joint pain, rash, mouth ulcers, or fever) and they will see us. Unless its a weekend, and we have a blood referral in case that happens. They want to look for certain things in her blood when shes having the symptoms. So far, other than the ER visit in May or 2009 all of her blood results have been normal.
Once the appt was over, we had an appt in GI. Her dr told me not to worry about her weight, she IS gaining and she IS getting taller. According to their scale she weighs 55.1 lbs and is 4'3" tall. She is going to see her again when we go back to rheumatology unless there are any problems.
Any good wishes would be wonderful :)
