Punkinhead.... we will miss you.

Devynn and Nan, June 21 2011
In the ER, June 16

Relaxing, watching movies. June 17

On Wed (June 15) Devynn was fine. At about 10 pm she told me she had a headache and was very teary. I gave her some tylenol before bed for the headache and a stomache ache that started just before bed. By 2am she woke up with pains in her tummy. Around 4:30 am she woke up and vomited all over the bed, floor etc. By about6:30 am she started having diareah and by 8 am we were on our way to the hospital. She was seen within 15 min and was put on an IV right away. They wanted to take blood and were worried about her appendix, so they put her on an IV so the line was open if they needed it. They ordered xrays, an ultrasound, urine, blood work and a stool culture. They gave her morphine through the IV and something for the nausea. Her white count was a bit high (I think they said 15?), she had no fever. They ended up admitting her for the night. They wanted to make sure she could keep food down and make sure the diareah was under control. She said it was the worst pain she has ever remembered. We go back to see her GI dr in 2 weeks. The dr who saw her at TEGH was a colleague of her IBD dr at Sick Kids, so she had access to all their files. She's feeling a lot better now. She started getting her appetite back Wed, and her energy yesterday. We think this was brought on by stress. We put our cat Punkinhead down at the end of May and then we found out my mom has cancer on June 13th.
