Its been quite a while since I have updated. A lot has happened in the last 6 mos. We found out my Mom, Devynn's grandmother had cancer in June. June 13th to be exact. Things went downhill very quickly and we lost her on July 11th. 4 weeks to the day. She had metastatic breast cancer. It was in her liver, lungs, lining of her stomache and her bones. She took a huge piece of our hearts with her. Our family, will never be the same. We miss her so much, it hurts. For Devynn that pain is a literal pain. She feels it in her joints, and her tummy because of the stress and her IBD. She also feels the pain in her heart. Her IBD has been acting up ever since and we are struggling to keep things under control and to keep Devynn out of pain. Her Pentasa dosage has been upped. She is now on 4 pills a day. 2 in the morning, 1 after school and 1 before bed. She's had a lot of tummy pain, migraines and joint pain.
On Saturday (Jan 7th) I took her to the local swimming pool with a friend. A few hours after we got home, she told me her feet hurt. She took her socks off and the skin on the bottom of her toes looked like the skin was loose and there was air under the skin. By the time she went to bed Sat night, her skin was coming off. Sunday more skin was coming off. Today after school we got in to see our family doctor and he thinks this is some kind of allergic reaction. To what, we are not sure. The only time she has had anything like this was when she was exposed to pumpkin. The skin on her hands where she was exposed ended up coming off. This time, we have NO idea. I know she hasn't eaten pumpkin, this happened over Christmas break and we could pinpoint what she ate. She has some cream (HydroVal) that we have to put on her feet twice a day. The dr said it looks like the skin will prob peel off the bottoms of her feet as well. She's pretty uncomfortable right now. I just hope this cream works and stops the peeling. It's really sore :( I forgot to add, she is now 55" tall and weighs 70.5 lbs!
